Dvar Torah: Nitzavim-Vayelech

When I volunteered for this week and asked guidance, Navy Vet Terp generously shared this recollection:

One thing that strikes me, and I spoke on this at my cousin's shivah minyan a few years ago, is that Moses knows he will be dying within days, maybe by the end of the day, but his thoughts are solely on the Israelites standing before him. What prompted this was his son's talk at his dad's funeral, that the last time he saw his dad, hours before his death, his dad's final words were "Drive home safely."
This resonates with our brief, reflective time before Selichot and the High Holy Days. Perhaps we can begin here:
